Generally speaking, a remodeling project is considered a build-out when a new tenant is establishing occupancy in a previously occupied or unoccupied commercial space (shopping center, mall, office building, etc). You may also hear it called "tenant build-outs" or "tenant improvements." A commercial remodeling project is when an existing tenant remodels their space.
